Used Accordions for Sale
A little information about the Accordions for Sale here first. The accordion is a free reed instrument. Its reeds are classified into treble and bass reeds and are made to vibrate by air coming from a bellows that is operated by hand. An accordion is played by pushing and pulling bellows in and out while simultaneously pressing keys, and can basically be considered a portable piano for all practical purposes.
The accordion is sometimes referred to as a "squeezebox" and was first patented in 1829 in Vienna, Austria. In 1903 Mathias Hohner started industrial production of the accordion for sale in Germany.
The most common types of accordion can be grouped into diatonic, chromatic and piano accordions. Accordions are very complex instruments. A full size professional accordion has at least as many reeds as a grand piano has strings.
Nearly all accordions for sale contain perishable materials. The reeds are usually held in place by a mixture of beeswax and pine rosin. This grips the accordion's reeds tightly in place on the wooden chambers, and is airtight when properly applied. It makes it possible to remove the individual reeds and clean and service them. When an accordion is more than 40 years old, the wax will usually need to be replaced.
